EUNICE, La. – It took all of 20 seconds to ignite what would be a 7-1 blowout win for LSU Eunice against Texas Southmost at home on Friday.  The Bengals (6-5-1, 5-4-1) began what will be a three-game homestand of conference games to close out the regular season.

Loola Fermon (Valenciennes, France, Lycée Henri Darras) netted what is the quickest goal in Bengal history, thanks to perfectly timed through ball between two defenders by Ella Stewart (Linlithgow, Scotland, Linlithgow Academy).  The two linked up ten minutes later with Stewart on the receiving end of a Fermon assist to make it 2-0 at intermission.

Fermon again was the culprit in getting the LSUE offense back in motion, stealing a poor clearance at the top of the box and beating the Texas Southmost goalkeeper.  Madison Paujaud (Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, High Mowing Waldorf School) made it 4-0 LSU Eunice in the 63rd minute, heading home a corner kick from Stewart – her second assist of the game.

Addison Webster (Houma, LA, H.L. Bourgeois HS) scored the first of two goals for the speedster as she raced past the Scorpion defense down the sideline, taking the ball at midfield and blowing past two defenders on her way to a near side finish.  After Texas Southmost converted a goal in the 79th minute, Stewart and Webster both completed their braces with goals in the 82nd and 84th minute.

Catherine Beckman (Walker, LA, Walker HS) performed well in net, grabbing five saves in the victory.

LSU Eunice welcomes Blinn College to town on Friday, October 16 for a 5:00PM doubleheader at the Bengal Soccer Complex.
