BROWNSVILLE, Texas – LSU Eunice Women's Soccer took its high-octane offense on the road to score a 5-0 win over Texas Southmost on Tuesday.  The Bengals (5-3) have responded in emphatic fashion from a three-game skid, outscoring their last two opponents 11-1.
 
It would take some time, but the Bengals got their offense rolling in the final ten minutes of the first half.  Gabrielle Jobe (Åkersberga, Sweden, Österåkers Gymnasium) won a contested ball near midfield and flicked ahead to Madison Paujaud (Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, High Mowing Waldorf School).  The sophomore outran three Scorpion defenders before blistering a ball past the Texas Southmost goalkeeper.
 
Arndís Dóra Ólafsdóttir (Hafnarfjörður, Iceland, Fjölbrautaskólinn í Garðabæ) added another goal in the final seconds of the half, corralling a corner kick at the top of the box before lofting a shot that rattled the upper corner of the goal.
 
Lucie Quivron (Rennes, France, Lycee Brequigny) put the game away for good with a quick pair of goals to open the second half.  She stuffed home a rebound off a Loola Fermon (Valenciennes, France, Lycée Henri Darras) shot in the 50th minute, followed by long-range bouncer that ricocheted off the goalkeeper and in the net.
 
LSU Eunice capped the scoring with Trinity Spence (Zachary, LA, Zachary HS) burying a shot inside the box off an assist from Fermon.
 
Hannah Vaillant (Poitiers, France, Lycée Marguerite de Valois) picked up the clean sheet after facing minimal traffic from the Scorpions.  The freshman would only need one save in the victory.
 
The Bengals take an extended break before returning to the field next Friday, September 25 for a South Division matchup at Blinn College.
