EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Soccer put up a late fight but fell short 2-1 to No. 9 Trinity Valley CC on Thursday at the Bengal Soccer Complex.  It was the first home game of the regular season for LSUE (3-1) and the start of a four-game homestand.
 
The Bengals found themselves in a 2-0 hole early in the second half.  Trinity Valley struck early in both halves, scoring in the 12th and 48th minutes.  LSUE goalkeeper Catherine Beckman (Walker, LA, Walker HS) fought valiantly collecting eight saves in the game.
 
LSU Eunice would not go down easily, netting a goal in the 62nd minute.  A service towards the box was deflected off a Trinity Valley defender and falling right to a wide-open Addison Webster (Houma, LA, H.L. Bourgeois HS) who beat the goalkeeper one-on-one.
 
The Bengals had a few more opportunities as the team turned up the offensive pressure but could not grab the equalizer.
 
LSUE is back in action on Sunday with a 10:00AM contest against No. 8 Navarro College.
