EUNICE, La. – After putting on a hitting clinic in LSU Eunice Baseball's series against Delgado,
Mason Bordelon (Marksville, LA, Avoyelles Charter HS) has earned national honors by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) on Wednesday. Bordelon has been named the NJCAA Division I Baseball Player of the Week for April 20-26.
The redshirt sophomore is the second LSU Eunice student-athlete this season to earn national honors, joining pitcher
Hudson Spangler (Zachary, LA, Zachary HS).
Bordelon carried the offensive load for the Bengals during their series win against Delgado this past weekend. The outfielder was 7-for-11 (.636) over the four games, producing 14 runs batted in and six runs scored thanks in large part to five home runs. Bordelon hit a pair of home runs in Friday's 12-2 opener and was a perfect 3-for-3 with two long balls in the Bengals' 13-3 Sunday decision.
The Avoyelles Charter product has been LSUE's top bat during conference play, leading the team with a .455 batting average, 10 home runs and 30 RBIs. His 15 home runs for the 2026 season are tied for the second most in a single season in program history.
LSU Eunice closes the regular season this weekend with a four-game series at Nunez CC that begins on Thursday, April 30. The Bengals will return to the New Orleans area next weekend for the LCCAC Postseason Tournament on May 7-10.
