ABCA Names LSUE's Willis Fourth Vice President of Organization

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Baseball Head Coach and Athletic Director Jeff Willis has been named the Fourth Vice President of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), the organization affirmed this week.  Willis was recommended for the post during a special election, which concluded on Monday, July 6.
 
The ABCA and NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame member will serve in that capacity through the conclusion of the 2027 ABCA Convention where he will then advance annually through the officer ranks, eventually serving as ABCA President.  A 24-year ABCA member, Willis also currently serves as Chair of the Junior College Division on the ABCA Executive Committee and as President of the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association.
 
He is one of two junior college representatives currently on the ABCA Board of Directors & Officers. 
 
Willis has guided LSU Eunice to eight NJCAA National Championships and 12 NJCAA National Tournament appearances including a JUCO World Series trip this season.  Under his guidance the Bengals have amassed more than 1,150 victories and are the second winningest program in college baseball history.
 
He was also recently awarded the 2026 ABCA/ATEC NJCAA Division I South Region Coach of the Year.
 
Beyond his accomplishments on the field, Willis has been a longtime leader within the coaching profession, serving on the NJCAA Coaches Association Executive Committee, as chairman of the NJCAA All-American Committee, as Assistant Regional Director of NJCAA Region XXIII, and as both a head coach and assistant coach for NJCAA National Teams.
 
He was the inaugural recipient of the Walter Hauck Award, recognizing dedication, service and commitment to the NJCAA.
