EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Baseball took home four major awards and placed six student-athletes on the 2026 Louisiana Sports Writers' Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana Baseball team, the organization announced on Saturday. The six LSUE representatives on the All-Louisiana Baseball are the most among all universities and colleges in the Bayou State.
The Bengals landed four of the five top honors on this year's squad with
Aidan Mouton (Rayne, LA, Notre Dame HS) being named Hitter of the Year,
Lane Fenske (New Iberia, LA, Catholic-New Iberia HS) tabbed as both the Pitcher and Freshman of the Year, and Jeff Willis garnering Co-Coach of the Year recognition. It's the first time in the history of the All-Louisiana team that a non-Division I student-athlete has received a major award.
Cody Brasch of Louisiana was named Newcomer of the Year, and Matt Deggs of Louisiana was Co-Coach of the Year.
In addition to Mouton and Fenske's top honors, the duo was joined by
Andrew Clapinski (Baton Rouge, LA, Catholic-Baton Rouge HS) on the first team.
Marshall Louque (Lutcher, LA, Lutcher HS) and
Mason Bordelon (Marksville, LA, Avoyelles Charter HS) were both named to the second while, while
Milan Obradovich (Tuscaloosa, AL, Northridge HS) was an honorable mention.
Aidan Mouton capped off the most prolific offensive career in LSU Eunice history to help lead the Bengals to the NJCAA JUCO World Series. The Region 23 Most Valuable Player and third-team All-American was ranked top 15 nationally in on-base percentage, runs scored and walks. Mouton etched his name throughout the LSUE single-season record books in batting average (3rd), runs scored (2nd), home runs (6th), runs batted in (6th), slugging percentage (6th), walks (3rd), and on-base percentage (1st).
The Kansas University signee leaves the Bengals as the career leader in batting average, runs scored, home runs, total bases, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage. The Rayne, LA native is the first Bengal to receive All-Louisiana accolades in both years on the Cajun Prairie after being named to the second team in 2025.
Lane Fenske becomes the first dual major award winner since LSU's Luke Holman in 2024. Fenske served as LSU Eunice's ace, finishing his freshman campaign with a 15-0 record and 3.19 earned run average. His 15 wins were tied for second nationally and tied the LSU Eunice single season record. Fenske also finished Top 20 in the NJCAA in strikeouts (98), WHIP (1.19), and innings pitched (93.0).
Just the sixth freshman in LSU Eunice history to earn first-team All-American honors, Fenske was the first junior college athlete to be named a finalist for the James J. Corbett Award, given to Louisiana's top amateur male athlete.
Andrew Clapinski established himself as one of the nation's top backstops in his first year on the Cajun Prairie. The catcher led LSUE with 89 runs batted in – the second most in an LSUE single season. An NJCAA third-team All-American, Clapinski was the team leader in hits (86) and doubles (21) while also producing the third most home runs (15) and the fifth best slugging percentage (.752) in LSUE single-season history.
Defensively, Clapinski ranked 12th nationally in caught stealing percentage, throwing out 19 base runners.
Marshall Louque was a clutch offensive weapon in the middle of LSUE's lineup, producing the third most home runs (15) in an LSUE single season and second-best slugging percentage (.822). An LCCAC All-Conference team member, Louque was vital in the Bengals' postseason run to Grand Junction, hitting .375 in postseason play with a team leading 21 RBIs. Louque drove in five runs in LSUE's World Series win against Wabash Valley including a three-run home run.
Mason Bordelon produced one of the best power hitting seasons in LSU Eunice history, smashing a team leading 18 home runs – the second most in a single season. The redshirt sophomore's .875 slugging percentage is a new Bengal single season record and ranked 25th nationally. Bordelon was named NJCAA National Player of the Week (April 20-26) after hitting five home runs and collecting 14 RBIs in a weekend series vs. Delgado.
The LCCAC All-Conference team selection ended the season on a 23-game hitting streak, including a 10-game stretch where he hit 10 home runs and amassed 27 RBIs. During LCCAC and postseason play, Bordelon was nearly unstoppable – hitting a team best .425 batting average with 13 home runs, 41 runs batted in and 28 runs scored.
Milan Obradovich produced in the heart of the Bengals' lineup, driving in 71 RBIs – the ninth most in a LSUE single season. The LCCAC All-Conference team member reached base safely in 37 straight games, while slashing .337 BA/.612 SLG/.456 OB from the clean up spot.
Willis guided LSU Eunice to its 12th NJCAA National Tournament appearance in program history and its first as a Division I member, finishing fifth in the tournament. The two-time LSWA Coach of the Year eclipsed 1,150 wins in his 24th season atop the helm at LSUE, ranking 22nd all-time in NJCAA history. LSUE produced a 40-win season for the 20th straight campaign under Willis, who was also one of four finalist for the AllState Sugar Bowl Sports Awards Outstanding Coach of the Year.
