Biography

As a Freshman (2012-2013): Played in 21 games for the Lady Bengals last season, averaging 7.0 minutes per game…Averaged 0.8 points and 0.8 rebounds per game…Shot 24 percent from the floor and 25 percent from behind the three-point line…Added 10 assists and 6 steals last season.

Prior to College: A native of Basile, La., Fontenot attended Basile High School, where she was a four-time letter winner in basketball, cheerleading and track for the Bearcats. On the court, Fontenot was named first- team All-District, first-team All-Parish, an All-State Honorable Mention and to the All-Southwest Louisiana team her senior year, while she was a member of the Beta Club, FBLA Club, 4-H Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes off the court in addition to being named an Academic All-State selection as a senior. The youngest of three children with two older brothers, Fontenot chose to come to LSU Eunice because “it is practically in my backyard and I love the campus.”
