Box Score LUFKIN, TX – LSU Eunice had several scoring opportunities fall just short as the Bengals fell 1-0 in a tough luck loss at Angelina College. It was the Bengals' (7-1-1) first loss of the season and snapped a seven match win streak.
The Roadrunners scored the lone goal of the game when Bailey Bowers connected on a 35-yard free kick in the 37th minute of the first half.
Despite being shutout, LSUE fired 15 shots on the day including five on goal. The Bengals had multiple opportunities near net but either clanged off the goal post or were pushed away by Angelina goalkeeper Aubrey Pettett.
Juliana Rocha (Bogotá, Colombia, Colegio Bilingue Pio XII) and
Katelyn Knowles (Lufkin, TX, Lufkin HS) both fired three shots on the game.
LSUE's
Jolie Cary (Lafayette, LA, Acadiana HS) was also solid in net despite the one goal. Cary tallied two saves to help keep the Bengals within striking distance.
