Box Score DALLAS, Tx. – LSU Eunice turned in arguably its most efficient effort of the season as the Bengals took down Mountain View College 3-0. It was the third straight victory for LSU Eunice (3-0-1).
"We are really starting to find our groove and the result showed," LSU Eunice women's soccer head coach Ian McGimsey said. "The girls were solid in all three levels of play and it was nice to see so many players get involved in scoring opportunities."
Sherice Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica, Wolmer's HS) starting the offensive attack with her first goal of the season. Clarke linked up with
Kelsi Humbird (Houston, TX, Angleton HS) in the 20th minute off a pass across the edge of the box. The Bengals would take a 2-0 edge into intermission after
Celeste Nunez's (Longview, TX, Longview HS) corner kick connected with
Katelyn Knowles (Lufkin, TX, Lufkin HS) in the 35th.
Judith Avila (Lindale, TX, Lindale HS) would add her team-tying third goal of the season in the 50th minute after taking in a far post cross from
Conner Bozeman (Baton Rouge, LA, Parkview Baptist HS).
LSUE outshot Mountain 19-10 with six Bengal shots on target.
Jolie Cary (Lafayette, LA, Acadiana HS) combined with
Luisa Rodenas Benavente (Barcelona, Spain) to post LSUE's third straight clean sheet. The pair collected three saves off of ten total Mountain View shots.
The red-hot Bengals have not allowed a goal in the last 318 minutes of action. Delta State scored the last goal against the LSUE defense in the 65th minute of a 2-2 season opening tie on August 24.
