EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice women's soccer has announced that three student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their careers at the four-year level.  LSUE has inked a pair of NCAA Division I signees, the first for the program in just the second year of its existence.
 
Goalkeeper Mariah Scott (San Antonio, TX, Legacy of Educational Excellence HS) heads back to the Lone Star State to play at Texas-El Paso (UTEP), while midfielder Sherice Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica, Wolmer's HS) will join Alabama A&M of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).  Abbie Watson (Durham, England, Durham-Johnston Comprehensive School) rounds out the group of signees, joining Florida Memorial of the NAIA.
 
"We could not be more proud of those three for carrying the LSUE name to the next level," LSUE head coach Ian McGimsey said.  "Our hope is that we consistently send students to the highest levels possible to compete on the biggest stages."
 
Scott started all 17 games she played in her lone season with the Bengals.  The redshirt freshman posted a 13-3-1 mark tallying 53 saves for a .828 save percentage.  She was the backbone behind a staunch LSUE defense that posted nine shutouts on the season.
 
Clarke wrapped up her LSUE career this fall, starting 19 of the 26 games she played for the Bengals.   The midfielder scored three goals to go along with five assists in 2019, wrapping up her LSUE tenure with seven goals and seven assists in her two years on campus.  The Jamaican import recently spent time her National Team's U20 squad at the CONCACAF Championships, finishing in the Quarterfinal round.
 
Watson was also a two-year starter for the Bengals, seeing time at every level of the LSUE formation.  The English import started 12 of the 15 games she played in during the 2019 season, scoring three goals and tallying two assist as a forward.  Watson finished with five goals in her LSUE career.
 
The Bengals welcome back ten players from last year's nationally ranked squad.  The team is expected back on campus in August to prepare for the upcoming 2020 campaign.
