EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice dropped a Tuesday matchup with No.1 Tyler JC 3-0 at Bengal Soccer Complex.
The Bengals (0-1-1) withstood a furious Apache early as TJC controlled possession. However, it was LSUE with the first real opportunity as the Bengals broke on a counter attack with
Samaris Alvarado (Houston, TX, Klein Forest HS) curling it past the TJC goalkeeper but banging it off the near post.
The defense would finally break in the 35th minute as a foul in the box forced a penalty kick for TJC which netted the first goal of the game. The Apaches would add two more in the second half.
Shannon Hellina (Hertfordshire, England, Chancellors Secondary School) made seven saves for the game as LSUE was outshot on goal 10-2.
LSUE will aim to bounce back on Friday as Paris JC comes to town for a 4:00PM first kick.
