Box Score EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Men's Soccer used a picture perfect second half to record a 6-0 victory over Paris JC on Wednesday at the Bengal Soccer Complex.  LSUE (4-2-2) scored five goals in the second half to blow past the Dragons, the second most in a single half in program history.

It took a third of the game for LSUE to get on the scoreboard after coming up short on its early attacking possessions.  A physical run down the right wing by
Thomas McDavid (Mandeville, LA, Mandeville HS) paid off as the winger fed
Emilio Segovia Gaytan (Mexico City, Mexico, Colegio Olinca) at point blank range as he buried his first goal of the season.

LSUE would start much faster in the second half as
Jose Escobar (Fort Pierce, FL, Fort Pierce Central HS) caught Paris napping off a quick restart, rifling a long-range howler to the near side in the 49th minute.  It was Escobar's team leading fifth goal of the season.

The LSUE attack was on the offensive from start to finish, rifling off 23 shots.

Heitor de Oliveria Moreira (Sao Paulo, Brazil, Integral Escolas Inteligentes) pushed the Bengal advantage to 3-0 with a left footed shot just outside that box that bounced off the keeper's hands and the crossbar into net towards the back post.

The Bengals would close out the half in style, pushing across three goals in a ten-minute span from
Aleksandar Vukovic (Beograd, Serbia, Zumunska Gimnazija),
Habib Bakayoko (Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Horizon HS) and
Faheem Patel (Sugar Land, TX, Texas Connections Academy).

The offensive showcase overshadowed another great performance in net by
Diego Montoya Casillas (Cuernavaca, Mexico, Instituto Oriente de Puebla).  The goalkeeper had little work, facing just a handful of shots but came up with arguably the play of the game early in the first half.  Paris JC had its only threatened scoring opportunity off a great backside cross.  Montoya made a diving safe off the header, a defender blocked a rebound attempt before Montoya sprawled to make another airborne save.

It was Montoya's second clean sheet of the season.

LSU Eunice will travel to New Orleans on Friday, October 8 to take on Mississippi Gulf Coast.  The Bengals and Bulldogs opened the 2021 campaign in Eunice, with LSUE taking that first contest 3-0.
