Farrell To Suit Up For USVI In Nation's League

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Men's Soccer's Quinn Farrell (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Habersham Central HS) will be the latest Bengal to represent his country as Farrell received the call up to the U.S. Virgin Islands Men's National Team this week, it was announced by the country's soccer federation.  Farrell and the "Dashing Eagles" will play this summer in the CONCACAF Nation's League beginning June 3.
 
"It is always an extreme honor to wear your country's colors and we are all so excited and proud for Quinn's call up," LSU Eunice Men's Soccer Coach Josh McReynolds said.  "This is the opportunity every young player hopes to receive, and we know he will flourish on this big stage."
 
Quinn and the U.S. Virgin Islands will play in Group A of League C in the 2022-23 CONCACAF Nation's League.  The tiered event has promotion and relegation among the 41 countries withing three separate leagues.  The U.S. Virgin Islands will compete for promotion into League B as well as the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup preliminaries.
 
The Dashing Eagles will open up play on June 3 at Sint Maarten.  The four-team group also consists of Turks & Caicos Islands and Bonaire.  The six-game schedule for group play will take place from June 2-June 14, followed by the final two games of the group stage from March 23-March 28.
 
Farrell made 11 starts for the Bengals during the 2021 fall season, helping anchor a stingy LSUE defense as both an outside and center back.  The Bengals went 8-5-3 during the season, capping it with a second straight NJCAA National Tournament appearance.
 
He joins former Bengals Jeremy Garrett (Guyana) and Zaykeese Smith (St. Kitts and Nevis) to suit up for their country's Men's National Team.
