RANGER, Tx. – LSU Eunice Women's Soccer came out strong to start each half on its way to a 2-0 victory over Ranger College on the road on Sunday. The Bengals (4-2-1) scored in the first minutes of each half to help LSUE push its current win streak to three matches.
The Bengals were quick to get on the scoreboard, netting a sixth minute goal from
Morgan Bean (Ruston, LA, Ruston HS). The sophomore linked up with
Giovanna Do Amaral Camargo (Ascoli Piceno, Italy, Monteverde Academy (FL)) on a through ball, tallying her first goal with LSU Eunice.
LSUE would then ride the hot hand of
Avery Wright (Temple, TX, Salado HS), making a trio of critical saves in the first half to preserve a 1-0 halftime edge. Wright grabbed four saves in the Bengals' third consecutive clean sheet.
Bean would again have a hand in the Bengals offensive attack after intermission, delivering a corner kick assist to
Lucia Lorenzo-Parga (Galicia, Spain, IES Rafael Dieste). The Spaniard would make it 2-0 in the 58th minute with a header off the set piece. Lorenzo-Parga would lead the LSUE offense with four shots on the day as the Bengals won that margin 16-7.
The Bengals turn their attention back to the Cajun Prairie for a Saturday morning matchup with Cisco College. LSUE hosts the Wranglers at 11:00AM from the Bengal Soccer Complex.
