SNYDER, Texas – LSU Eunice Women's Soccer drew with Western Texas 1-1 on Saturday to help push the Bengals into the NJCAA Postseason. The Bengals (5-5-2) need a win or tie to produce a .500 record that would allow them to be part of the upcoming South District Tournament.
It was gridlock for a majority of the contest as the Bengals and Westerners would stay level through the first 70 minutes of the game.
Sadie Bourgeois (Saint Amant, LA, Saint Amant HS) would finally put LSUE on the scoreboard as she netted a goal off a
Salome Deneubourg (Chalo-Saint-Mars, France, Jean Pierre Timbaud HS) assist.
LSUE held the lead into the final moments of the game as Western Texas equalized in the 85th minute.
Anais Coyne (Mansfield, TX, Mansfield Legacy HS) gathered 14 saves in the draw.
The Bengals will face Rose State in the opening round of the South District Tournament in Enid, Oklahoma. First kick on Thursday, October 26 is set for 11:30AM.
