Men's Soccer Prepares For 18-Game Slate This Fall

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Men's Soccer has unveiled its 2023 Regular Season schedule as the Bengals open up the campaign on Wednesday, August 9 in a scrimmage against Lafayette-based Gulf Coast Premier League side Cajun Rush.  LSUE embarks on its second season under the helm of head coach Matthew Wolf.

The schedule features six games against five teams that ended the 2022 campaign ranked in their NJCAA polls to close last season and two teams, Daytona State and Jones College, that participated in their National Tournaments.

LSUE begins the fall with a four game homestand, starting with its tune-up against Cajun Rush.  The Bengals host LSU Alexandria (August 13), NAIA startup Xavier-New Orleans (August 16) and Jacksonville College (August 21) before playing the first of seven neutral site contests.

"By playing some quality, ranked teams as well as several neutral site contests, we believe it will best prepare our team to be playing its best when it matters most," LSU Eunice Men's Soccer head coach Matthew Wolf said.  "We have a blend of talented veterans and exciting newcomers that should make our brand of soccer a very exciting one to watch."

Those neutral site contests include a two-day stop in Atlanta to play at former professional club Atlanta Silverbacks' stadium.  That two-day swing includes matches against South Carolina based NJCAA teams USC Lancaster (August 25) and Spartanburg Methodist (August 26).  After a September 1 trip to Jones College, the Bengals head to Beaumont, Texas for a netural site game on September 4 against North American University.

LSUE heads to Panama City, Florida for back-to-back Friday matches against perennial Florida powers Eastern Florida State (September 8) and Daytona State (September 15).  The Bengals return home for a quick homestand with dates against East Mississippi (September 17) and Western Texas College (September 22).

The final neutral site games take LSU Eunice to Mobile, Alabama to battle Southern Union State (September 26) and Memphis, Tennessee to face St. Louis CC (October 14).  The Bengals' 2023 schedule is capped off with home dates against Northwest Mississippi CC (October 9) and Dallas Christian College (October 18) as well as road dates with Paris JC (October 5) and Western Texas College (October 21).

LSU Eunice is once again paired with Region 14 for postseason play, beginning the District playoff tournament on October 25 by hosting Quarterfinal action.
