Bengals Sweep Dallas Area Road Trip

IRVING, Texas – LSU Eunice Women's Soccer flexed its muscle in the Lone Star State with a pair of runaway wins.  The Bengals (3-1) produced a pair of shutouts to give LSUE three clean sheets already on the young season.

The Bengals struck early for a pair of goals on their way to a 5-0 win over Richland College and followed that up with another offensive showcase in a 6-0 decision against North Lake College.  Gabby Stone (Sydney, Australia, Moriah College) shined on the attacking end again this weekend, picking up five goals over the two matches.

LSUE will head back to the Dalas-Fort Worth metroplex next weekend for another weekend doubleheader starting Friday, September 6 against Western Texas College.  LSUE closes its Texas swing the following day against Dallas College Eastfield.

August 29 vs. Dallas College Richland – W, 5-0
A pair of goals in the first ten minutes set the tone for LSU Eunice on its way to a 5-0 decision over Richland College.  The Bengals saw four different goal scorers headlined by Gabby Stone's brace.

Nova Eskelinen (Burträsk, Sweden, Kanalskolan Skellefteå) put LSUE on the board in the seventh minute punching in a ball off one of three Bengal corner kicks.  Salomé Deneubourg (Chalo-Saint-Mars, France, Jean Pierre Timbaud HS) followed up two minutes later with her first goal of the season.

Stone pushed the LSUE advantage to 3-0 after intermission with a 55th minute tally off an assist from Eskelinen.  The Bengals used the long-range game ten minutes later as Lily Whitefoot (Wrexham, Wales, Darland HS) raced under a booming clearance by goalkeeper Anais Coyne (Mansfield, TX, Mansfield Legacy HS) and rifled a long shot for the fourth game of the match.

Emily Poste (Copperas Cove, TX, Copperas Cove HS) notched her second assist of the night, feeding Stone in the 77th minute for the exclamation point.

Coyne went the distance in net, scooping up eight saves in the clean sheet.

August 30 vs. Dallas College North Lake – W, 6-0
A trio of freshman led the scoring assault for LSU Eunice during the Bengals' 6-0 victory over North Lake to close out a high-octane weekend.  Just two weekends into the season, LSUE has produced 17 goals – currently ranked eighth nationally in the NJCAA.

Anllely Fuentes (Ocaña-Norte de Santander, Colombia, Francisco Fernandez de Contreras) kicked off the runaway win in the 23rd minute with one of her two first half goals.  The freshman would trade goals with fellow rookie Gabby Stone as the duo helped LSUE push out to a 4-0 lead midway through the second half.

Stone capped off her second hat trick of the season with a 65th minute tally off one of two Salome Deneubourg assists.  Stone pushed her season goal total to eight, currently fourth in the country.

Nova Eskelinen capped the scoring with an 83rd minute strike.

Hannah May (Gonzales, LA, East Ascension HS) notched the clean sheet in her first action of the season in net.  She scooped up seven saves in the victory.
