LUFKIN, Texas – LSU Eunice Women's Soccer took a tied game into half but could not overcome Angelina College in a 4-1 loss on Friday. The loss snapped the Bengals' (6-2) five-game win streak.
LSUE found itself in an early hole as the Roadrunners were able to score just two minutes into the contest. The Bengals quickly responded after
Anllely Fuentes (Ocaña-Norte de Santander, Colombia, Francisco Fernandez de Contreras) connected to
Emily Poste (Copperas Cove, TX, Copperas Cove HS) who tucked in a 19th minute equalizer.
Tied at half, the Roadrunners struck for the first of three second half goals in the 53rd minute including a 59th minute own goal by the Bengals.
Hannah May (Gonzales, LA, East Ascension HS) tallied six saves while the Roadrunners stopped four LSUE shots on target.
LSUE will play its first home game in more than a month on Saturday, October 5 with a 1:00PM kick against National Park College.
