Stone Earns Weekly NJCAA Honors

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Soccer freshman Gabby Stone (Sydney, Australia, Moriah College) has been named the NJCAA Division I National Player of the Week, the organization announced on Wednesday.  Stone is the first Women's Soccer student-athlete to earn Player of the Week honors in program history.

Stone enjoyed another productive weekend on the pitch, scoring five goals over two runaway wins for LSU Eunice.  The Australian import notched a brace in a 5-0 win over Dallas College Richland on Thursday, August 29, and followed that up with a hat trick during the Bengals' 6-0 victory over Dallas College North Lake a day later.

It was Stone's second hat trick of the season as she grabbed her first trifecta in LSUE's season opener.  The freshman forward is currently tied for fifth nationally in goals with eight.

She's one of six Bengals in program history to record a hat trick joining Lucia Lorenzo-Parga (2022), Breon Grant (2020), Jacie Crochet (2020), Samaris Alvarado (2019) and Marcela Ramirez (2019).  Stone is the only one in that group to achieve it twice.

LSU Eunice, currently receiving votes in the latest NJCAA poll, is set for another round of games in Texas this weekend.  The Bengals take on Western Texas College on Friday, September 6 followed by a date with Dallas College Eastfield on Saturday, September 7.
