LSUE Baseball Opens 2026 Season On January 30

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Baseball has officially announced its 2026 regular season schedule, opening the campaign on January 30 against Dyersburg State, the first of 37 home games during the spring season.  This season marks the first full spring inside the newly renovated Bengal Stadium, featuring chairback seating throughout stadium.

Fans can secure their seats in the club or grandstand levels by purchasing season tickets at www.lsuebengals.net/Tickets.  The deadline to purchase season tickets is set for December 24.

The Bengals enter their 24th year under the direction of head coach Jeff Willis.  The ABCA and NJCAA Hall of Famer has guided the Bengals to 50-plus win seasons in each of the last three campaigns and has seen his team ranked number one in the country in each of the last eight seasons – the second time that has happened under Willis.

LSU Eunice will begin its LCCAC regular season and tournament championship defense on March 27 at home against Baton Rouge in a four-game series.  The LCCAC will play four-game series during conference play, squaring off in home-and-home series for a total of 24 LCCAC contests.  The Bengals' other home conference series are April 10-12 against Nunez and April 24-26 against Delgado.

Road conference dates are April 2-4 against Delgado, April 17-19 at Baton Rouge, April 30-May 2 against Nunez.

Non-conference home series includes Dyersburg State (January 30-Febrary 1), National Park (February 6-8), Monroe (February 13-15), Wharton County (February 20-22), Murray State (February 27-March 1), and Southeast Arkansas (March 6-8).  LSUE will host single game or doubleheaders against Galveston (February 10), Centenary (March 3), Bossier Parish (March 14), and South Arkansas (April 14).

The Bengals head to Panola (March 20-21) for its lone non-conference road series of the season, with Centenary (February 24), Galveston (March 11), Angelina (March 12), and South Arkansas (March 17) also on the road schedule.

The postseason will begin on May 7 with the Region 23 Tournament, hosted by Nunez at Noel Suarez Stadium on the campus of Chalmette High School.  The winner will host the Gulf District Championship Series against the Alabama-based Region 22 champion in a best-of-three series on May 14-16.  The district champion receives an automatic berth into the NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado that is set for May 23-30.

LSUE welcomes back five players with more than 25 starts last season, headlined by All-Region 23 selection Aidan Mouton (Rayne, LA, Notre Dame HS).  The redshirt sophomore led the Bengals last season with a .391 batting average and 11 home runs.  He's joined by veterans Tyler Mitchell (Marrero, LA, John Curtis HS), Jordan Luna (Washington, LA, Opelousas Catholic HS), Caleb Hastings (Lutcher, LA, Lutcher HS), and Milan Obradovich (Tuscaloosa, AL, Northridge HS).  The quintet combined for 24 home runs, 176 RBIs, 224 runs scored.

Xavier Woods (Cleveland, TX, Cleveland HS) returns to lead the LSUE pitching staff after completing an 8-0 freshman campaign.  The southpaw is joined by bullpen returners McCray Jacobs (Johnson City, TX, Johnson City HS), Hudson Spangler (Zachary, LA, Zachary HS), Hunter Gambel (Hammond, LA, St. Thomas Aquinas HS), and Alex Morrison (Pineville, LA, Tioga HS).  Spangler led the Bengals last season with 25 appearances.
