DAPHNE, Ala. – LSU Eunice Men's Soccer found itself clicking on all cylinders to open the 2025 regular season as the Bengals claimed a 3-0 win over Enterprise State CC on Saturday. It was the third straight season opening win for LSUE (1-0), improving to 7-1 all-time in season openers.
It was quick work for the Bengals' offensive attack, scoring in the third minute.
Arthur Palud (Paris, France, Andrews Osborne Academy (OH)) sent an offering into the box that was deflected right to
Mike Osenberg (Wuppertal, Germany). The freshman forward cut the ball across the net to wide a streaking
Arnold Cruz (Monroe, LA, Neville HS) who buried the point-blank shot. The Bengals would add another tally before half with
Nathan Martinez (Houston, TX, Klein Cain HS) connecting on a 31st-minute penalty kick.
After intermission, the Bengals would, again, start the half fast with their final goal of the day coming in the first five minutes out of halftime.
Marven Romario Michel (Saint-Constant, Quebec, Canada, Longueuil College Francais) smashed a header on a LSUE corner kick after
Juan Arrieta (Bogotá, Colombia, Colegio Americano de Bogotá) sent the offering into the danger area. It was Michel's first career collegiate goal.
Martinez led the team with five shots on goal while LSUE led the corner kick battle 10-4.
William Panter (Northampton, England, Campion School) combined with
Josh Barrow (Prairieville, LA, Dutchtown HS) for the clean sheet. Panter would help preserve the shut out in his LSUE debut, halting a penalty kick attempt by ESCC in the final minutes of the game.
LSU Eunice opens the home portion of the regular season on Friday, August 29 with a doubleheader against Paris JC. The women's team gets the twinbill started at 3:30PM, followed by the men approximately 30 minutes following the completion of the first game.
