EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Soccer scored four goals after halftime to turn Tuesday's win over Texas Southmost into a 5-0 runaway at the Bengal Soccer Complex. The Bengals (4-2-3) grabbed their second shutout of the season in the victory.
Lily Whitefoot (Wrexham, Wales, Darland HS) started the scoring for LSU Eunice with an 18th minute tally, stuff home a back post cross from
Emily Poste (Copperas Cove, TX, Copperas Cove HS). That was the only goal of the first half for LSUE, despite firing off 12 shots before intermission.
Poste would ignite a second-half avalanche of goals, finishing in the 62nd minute. A few minutes later Whitefoot would complete the brace, scoring off a
Luna Kristiina Kullas (Copenhagen, Denmark, Gefion Gymnasium) helper.
Ella Stewart (Linlithgow, Scotland, Linlithgow Academy) and
Madison Paujaud (Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, High Mowing Waldorf School) wrapped up the scoring spurt, giving LSUE four goals in a 12-minute span.
Katherine Evans (Chiche, France, Lycee De La Venise Verte Niort) recorded a pair of assists in the victory.
Catherine Beckman (Walker, LA, Walker HS) notched her second clean sheet of the season, scooping up five saves.
LSU Eunice steps outside of conference play for a road weekend, taking on Pensacola State College on Thursday and Southern Union State CC on Saturday.
