Game 1 vs. Bossier Parish CC – L, 3-4
LSU Eunice saw an early lead slip away as the Bengals couldn't complete a seventh inning rally, falling to Bossier Parish CC 4-3 to begin their doubleheader.
The Bengals took an early 2-0 lead, scoring runs in the second and third innings thanks to a
Gabrielle Huetter (Magnolia, TX, Magnolia HS) RBI single and sacrifice bunt by
Madison Prejean (Lafayette, LA, St. Thomas More HS). That lead was quickly erased as BPCC used three walks and two hits to tie the score in the bottom half of the third.
Home runs in the fifth and sixth inning by the Cavaliers saw the Bengals trail 4-2 entering their final at bat.
Sara Roussel (Luling, LA, Hahnville HS) would try to jump start a rally attempt, trimming the deficit with a RBI single to score
Maci Baldwin (Moss Bluff, LA, Sam Houston HS). The two-out rally was short lived as the next batter struck out to end the game.
Roussel and Baldwin accounted for four of the team's five hits.
Emma Shepherd (Athens, LA, Claiborne Academy) was dealt a tough luck loss, going five innings in the start. Shepherd gave up three earned runs off five hits and four walks while striking out six batters.

The marathon finally ended as

Katie Salling (Opelousas, LA, Parkview Baptist HS) also had multi-hit games. The Bengals, however, would 11 runners on base in the game.
