LSUE's Prince Adds NJCAA All-American Honor

EUNICE, La. –  LSU Eunice's Payton Prince (Sulphur, LA, Sulphur HS) earned her second All-American recognition of the season, recently being named to the third team of the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Softball team.  Prince previously was named a second-team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Prince is the first LSU Eunice student-athlete to earn dual All-American honors by the NJCAA and NFCA since Maddie Leal and Chloe Bennett during the 2022 season.

An outfielder selection, she caps off one of the most successful careers in the last decade of LSUE softball.  The McNeese State signee finishes her career on the Cajun Prairie ranked in the top 10 in both home runs (31) and stolen bases (91).  During the 2026 season, Prince led the LSU Eunice offense in runs (61), hits (62), doubles (12), home runs (18), runs batted in (63), hit by pitch (14), batting average (.425), slugging percentage (.918), and on-base percentage (.514).

She ranked in the Top 25 nationally in slugging percentage, stolen bases, hit by pitch, and home runs.  Prince also paced the squad with 22 multi-hit contests and 18 multi-RBI games.  While a force on the offensive end, defense is where she really shined – committing just one error in 104 chances.

The NJCAA nod is the 45th All-American designation in LSU Eunice softball history and Prince's award is the tenth All-American under head coach Meghan Collins.
