Prince, Elsensohn Earn NFCA All-Region Accolades

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Softball's Payton Prince (Sulphur, LA, Sulphur HS) and Mylie Elsensohn (Pearl River, LA, Pearl River HS) were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-South Region Team, the organization recently announced.  The duo was named to the second-team of the squad.

This is Prince's second All-Region selection to the NFCA All-South Squad after being a first-team selection a year ago.  There are three regions in the NFCA, with All-Region selections being eligible for All-American status by the organization later this month.

Prince, an outfielder selection, caps off one of the most successful careers in the last decade of LSUE softball.  The McNeese State signee finishes her career on the Cajun Prairie ranked in the top 10 in both home runs (31) and stolen bases (91).  During the 2026 season, Prince led the LSU Eunice offense in runs (61), hits (62), doubles (12), home runs (18), runs batted in (63), hit by pitch (14), batting average (.425), slugging percentage (.918), and on-base percentage (.514).

She ranked in the Top 25 nationally in slugging percentage, stolen bases, hit by pitch, and home runs.  Prince also paced the squad with 22 multi-hit contests and 18 multi-RBI games.  While a force on the offensive end, defense is where she really shined – committing just one error in 104 chances.

Elsensohn set the table for LSU Eunice's high-powered offense as the lead off hitter in her freshman season.  The Pearl River HS product made 49 starts at either designated player or outfield, finishing second on the team with 18 multi-hit games.  She led the squad with 24 walks and was second on the team in hits (60), runs (54), and stolen bases (44).  Her 44 stolen bases were the fifth most in a single season in LSUE history.

LSU Eunice finished the 2026 campaign with a 34-17 record, ranking in the Top 15 throughout the season.
