Makinzey Elisar Named to 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Team

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice outfielder Makinzey Elisar (Prairieville, LA, St. Amant HS) was named to the prestigious 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Team, which was presented and announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association this week.  Elisar is the first player in LSU Eunice history to receive the award, which began recognizing NJCAA student-athletes in 2023.

Elisar is one of nine players on the NJCAA Division II team, which had four student-athletes from Region 23. Recipients of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award, presented by the NFCA, were selected by the NJCAA Division II All-America committees.

"Makinzey is one of the best defensive players I have been around and it's just a small part of what makes her so special."  LSU Eunice head coach Meghan Collins said.  "Her work ethic and leadership set her apart and I could not be more thrilled she is getting the recognition she deserves."

The St. Amant HS product produced a .969 fielding percentage on 127 chances, amassing 118 putouts and five assists.  Elisar made multiple highlight reel worthy catches during the season including producing a pair of double plays.

On the offensive side, Elisar hit at a .383 clip, finishing third on the team in walks (18), runs scored (47), hit by pitch (4), hits (59), and runs batted in (30).  She led the squad in stolen bases with 45 – the third most in single season program history.  Her 82 career stolen bases are second all-time at LSU Eunice.
