Wilson's Doubles Propel LSUE to Win

EUNICE -- The NJCAA top-ranked LSU Eunice softball team improved to 7-1 on the year after knocking off Coffeyville 10-2 for the second time in as many days.  

Coffeyville took an early 1-0 lead, but LSUE scored four runs in the bottom of the first and never trailed again.  Emily Henderson's single to left field allowed Bobbie Smith to score. Then Molly Wilson hit a doubled driving in Henderson and Darby Bishop, and Wilson scored off a Rae'Shaun Malancon double.

In the second inning, Wilson (Castor HS) teed off on an Alyssa Dawson pitch, and her double to center field allowed Henderson to score again.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Wilson again doubled to center, and Rebecca Skains (West Ouachita HS) and Sierra Gasca (West Ouachita HS) scored pushing LSUE's lead to 7-2.  Gasca (West Ouachita HS) then singled allowing Wilson and Henderson (North Desoto HS) to score.

Up 9-2, LSUE mercy ruled Coffeyville when Bishop doubled and drove in Skains to make the final score 10-2.

Hannah Vidallier (North Vermillion HS) won her first contest of the season after pitching two innings and allowing only one run.

Wilson finished 3-for-3 with five RBIs and two runs scored. Malancon had 3 RBIs, and Henderson was 2-for-2 with three runs scored.
