Lady Bengals sweep Labette

 The Lady Bengals rolled to a 14-3 win over Labette Community College as LSUE completed a double-header sweep Monday.
 
Hannah Vidallier (North Vermillion HS) earned the complete game win as she struck out two and allowed one earned run on four hits over five innings of work.
 
Labette jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, begun when Cali Porter singled, stole second and third before scoring as Kelsey Phillips reached on an error.
 
Phillips scored on a double by Sierra Marquez to push Labette ahead by three runs.
 
LSUE (32-8) then exploded for 11 runs in the bottom of the inning as the Lady Bengals quickly put the game out of reach.
 
Molly Wilson (Castor HS) singled and scored on a double by Rebecca Skains (West Ouachita HS)Jordan Bishop (Newton County HS) singled to left field before Rae'Shaun Malancon (Ascension Catholic HS) drove in Skains to close the gap to 3-2.
 
Bobbi Smith (West Ouachita HS) singled to plate Bishop, while Vidallier drove in Malancon for a 5-2 advantage.  Emily Henderson (North Desoto HS) followed with a single to score Smith as the Lady Bengals' surge continued.

Alexa Lonibos (St. Joseph's Academy HS) singled in Vidallier, while Savannah Lejeune (Catholic of Pointe Coupe HS) drove in Henderson for an 8-2 lead.
 
Wilson drove in Lonibos before Skains grounded out to plate LeJeune.Malancon doubled to center field and scored when Smith singled to right field as the Lady Bengals scored 11 runs on 12 hits in the inning.
 
 LSUE added a run in the bottom of the second when Henderson singled to center field and scored on a hit by Wilson.
 
Vidallier hit a solo home run to help move the Lady Bengals up 13-2 in the bottom of the third frame.
 
LSUE's Darian Doucet (Sulphur HS) singled to begin the bottom of the fourth, advanced on a passed ball, stole third and scored on an error to push the Lady Bengals ahead, 14-2.
 
Labette closed the gap to 14-3 in the top of the fifth when Skylar Sadler reached on an error and later scored on ground-out by Laura Pineda.
 
The Lady Bengals finished with 17 hits led by Wilson (3-for-3, 2 RBI, 2 RS), Malancon (2-for-3,RBI, 2 RS), Smith (2-for-3, 2 RBI, RS), Vidallier (2-for-3 2 RBI, 2 RS), Henderson (2-for-2, RBI, 2 RS) and Lonibos (2-for-3, RBI, RS).

LSUE will entertain Lamar State College  3 p.m. next Tuesday at Lady Bengal Field.
