Lady Bengal pitcher Elizabeth Fontenot earned a complete-game win Tuesday as LSU Eunice grabbed a 6-4 victory over Lamar State – Port Arthur to cap the double header sweep.
 
The Lady Bengals (34-8) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first begun as Molly Wilson (Castor HS) walked, Rebecca Skains (West Ouachita HS) reached on a fielder's choice and they both scored on a double by Rae'Shaun Malancon (Ascension Catholic HS).
 
Bobbi Smith (West Ouachita HS) and Hannah Vidallier (North Vermillion HS) walked to load the bases before Abby Trahan (Hackberry HS) later walked to plate Malancon for a 3-0 Lady Bengal lead.
 
Lamar State responded with two runs in the top of the third, begun when Makenzi Maloy singled and scored as Kayla Sheridan reached on a fielder's choice.
 
Clarissa Moreno singled and later scored on Alexis Perez's ground-out as the Lady Seahawks battled back into the game.
 
The Lady Bengals quickly answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning, begun when Smith singled then stole second and third to move into scoring position.

Hannah Vidallier (North Vermillion HS) walked and then the two Lady Bengal baserunners scored on a Lamar State error to push LSUE ahead, 5-2.
 
The Lady Bengals added a run in the bottom of the fourth when Smith singled, stole second and third before scoring on a Lady Seahawk error.
 
Lamar State rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh as Savanna Guidry reached on an error and scored on a single by Alexis Perez.
 
Sheridan singled and scored on a double by Ashley May to close the margin to 6-4 before the Lady Bengal defense stiffened to record the final three outs.
 
Fontenot struck out four, walked one and allowed three earned runs on 11 hits over seven innings.
 
LSUE travels to East Mississippi Community College Saturday for a double header before visiting Meridian Community College on Sunday.
