Box Score BAY MINETTE, AL -- LSU Eunice outscored their opponents 36-3 in the first day of the Faulkner State Softball Tournament. In game one against Central Alabama, the Lady Bengals won 25-3 in five innings and mercy-ruled Bishop State 11-0 in game two.
Game 1: LSUE 25, Central Alabama 3
LSU Eunice (16-1) put up ten runs in the first inning of play against Central Alabama and had an eleven run inning in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Eighteen different batters got to play in the win.
Emily Henderson (North Desoto HS) and
Lakyn Wales (Zachary HS) had home runs for the Lady Bengals.
Savanna Cates (Hargrave HS) improved to 10-0 on the mound for LSUE. She faced 15 batters, striking out three in four innings.
Game 2: LSUE 11, Bishop State 0
The Lady Bengals used a 7-run third inning to mercy rule Bishop State here Saturday.
Henderson and
Mima Doucet (Notre Dame HS) each had home runs. Henderson hit her ninth of the season. She was first in the nation in home runs going into the tournament, followed by teammate
Rebecca Skains (West Ouachita HS).
Elizabeth Fontenot (Port Barre HS) went the distance for the Lady Bengals, pitching all five innings, striking out seven and allowing just two hits.
